Contemplation is not just an art, it is a way to calm your nerves and immerse yourself in a state of complete harmony. Contemporary is often called the dance of the soul. And no wonder, because this particular direction of choreography allows not only to perform dance steps, but also to “speak” with the help of the body.

The dance can be performed to any music, because the main thing in it is to express your state of mind through plasticity and get pleasure from the performance. Performing contempo, the dancer also does not have to follow any pre-conceived plan, you just need to listen to the music and improvise.

Today “contemporary” is one of the most popular dance styles of modern choreography in the world. Which, in general, is not surprising, because this dance is very sensual, emotional, plastic and spectacular.

What is contempo?
Contemporary is called differently. Someone associates this direction with a sincere conversation, someone – with the theater, someone – with a plastic form of expression of the inner world of the dancer. After all, this direction, first of all, involves the expression of feelings and emotions through dance.

The connection between the inner state of the dancer and its reflection in the dance plays a very important role in the contemporary. The “correct” dance in the style of contemporary is not so much technicality and clarity of choreography, but the correspondence of body movements to the dancer’s worldview, the ability to convey an informational (spiritual) message to the viewer.

More attention in the context is paid to breathing training. Oriental techniques used in this direction are “responsible” for this aspect of dance. Breathing in contemporary is an assistant in movement, an energy link that passes into body movements.

Also from oriental practices borrowed methods of training coordination, balance, “flow” of the body from one position to another.
Another special point that distinguishes contempo from other dance styles is its orientation “inward”.

So take time for yourself, for your soul and visit the dance school, where dancers learn to express their emotions and reflect unique movements in the performances, overcoming the earth’s gravity, plunging into the visual lightness of dance.
